snap circuits manual

how hard is it to build circuits without the manual that is sold separately?

I actually spoke to the "guy" at Snap Circuits one day and he said that the student manual is more for older/home school type study. DC is getting snap circuits and we will get the manual if need be.

I'd see how it goes...
