we are renovating our kitchen and I've tried posting on garden web but so far no luck. We are having alabaster cabinets done (creamy white) with giallo napoleon granite. We have stainless steel appliances and faucets. We are probably going with stainless steel knobs. The giallo napoleon looks like this:

I am thinking about something neutral for the kitchen in a creamy light green with some tan. But I don't have any idea of what color to paint the kitchen. Would love to get ideas from anyone that has something similiar to what I am looking for. In addition, I am looking for simple pendants and dining room lighting for the kitchen. I've enclosed a picture of a kitchen that I really like. The only thing is that the pendants are copper. I am looking for stainless look.

Thanks

We have similar granite in our kitchen, which is painted a soft sage green. Several of our friends have used this color after seeing it in our kitchen.

Sherwin Williams 6177 Softened Green

In the picture you attached to your OP (beautiful!), it looks as though they are using a khaki color. We have used Ralph Lauren's Parchment as our go to khaki (Sherwin Williams and other stores can color match). For a darker khaki that blends beautifully with the SW Softened Green, we used RL's Crested Butte (this is in our family room which directly adjoins our kitchen). We have used both of these colors in the houses we have owned (originally received the recommendations from a DF who was an interior designer for RL).

Congratulations on your new kitchen and good luck picking the paint.

Here's a search on bellacor's website for pendants in a silver-ish finish.

http://www.bellacor.com/results.cfm?N=8224+4294967219+4294967175+429496401 2+4294960813+4294909792+4294909826&Eas=1&Erp=121

And this website allows you to assemble the fixture in the finish and length you want with the shade you want.

These are the pendants we have hanging over our kitchen island:

http://www.restorationhardware.com/rh/catalog/product/product.jsp?productId=prod1292106&navAction=jump&link=ct_benson_pendant&cm_re=CT-_-CategoryText-_-BensonPendant

I love them and they throw lots of light. Previously, we had smaller amber glass ones that were pretty but more for fashion than function. I really wanted to make it brighter and the Restoration Hardware ones did the trick.

Surprised that you haven't gotten answers on Garden Web. Are you on the Kitchens board?

Having said that - look at Benjamin Moore's Saybrook Sage. It's a beautiful green that coordinates with a LOT. It may be grayer than what you want, but works well to warm up stainless. We've used it and I really like it.

For pendants, check out the Kichler brand. They *may* be too contemporary, but worth a try. And I second the PP's suggestions of Bellacor and Lamps Plus as great websites for lighting.

Have fun!

We have BM's Rosemary Sage in our K/FR and it would go with those cabinets and countertop.

I coworker of mine renovated her kitchen virtually identical to that photo and she used a dark brown on the walls. It looks very chic.

ETA: FYI, we have similar pendants in our kitchen -- ours have stainless instead of antique brass, but they came in antique brass too. We have a single over our sink and three over our island. They definitely weren't from RH, rather from an independent lighting place. They weren't cheap, but they weren't RH expensive either.

Do you have your backsplash tiles yet? We took a piece of our granite and a piece of our cabinet wood to the tile people, then once we had the tile, we took that to pick out paint chips. We have a similar granite and similar backsplash to that photo and ended up with a mustardy yellow, but our cabinets are cherry. Don't think yellow would work with white cabinets...but a I bet a warm beige would.

Good luck! It all looks beautiful!
