Dining recommendations

Please list your favorite dining experiences at Disney. We will be staying outside the park and not getting a dining plan but will probably do some of our meals out. Would love to hear suggestions about where people like to eat. Thanks!

We always eat in the park, so I can't make any outside recommendations- but here's some of the stand outs from our last trip. We aren't big on character meals or buffets.

The Plaza (at MK): cutest place, great for a nicer lunch but still reasonably priced. Great sandwiches, desserts.

The Wave (at contemporary hotel): new restaurant, great food, great service.

'Ohana (at Polynesian): there is a show where the kids can get up, dance etc. The food is really surprisingly good, served family style. And it's a faster meal, which is great with younger kids.

Tutto italia:( in Epcot, Italy pavillion). The food was great and the waiters are really good with kids.

Yak and Yeti(AK): asian flair- lo mein, nice salads, and standard kids fare still available.

California Grill (cotemp): it's a pricey place but if you want a nice meal, it's worth it. Make your reservations so you can watch the fireworks during dinner.

Magic Kingdom: crystal palace for breakfast/brunch- best Pooh Characters and good food!

Harbour House for lunch- kids mac n' cheese best bang for your buck (I polished off the 3yr old's ;)) but not the nuggets
Fish & Chips is good and so is the Chowdah!

Cosmic Ray's (counter service): good selection

Epcot- the Japanese pavillion- can't recall the name but they cook hibatchi style on the table- nice 'show' for the kids & good food...

There is every chain you can imagine close to the WDW hotel area. There is a Joe's Crabshack that we try to eat at when we go that has a big play area.

Our fav WDW hotel restaurants....

1900 Park Faire for breakfast
Big River Brewery on the Boardwalk
Beaches&Cream at the Beach Club

Epcot:
Garden Grille
Mexican restaurant in the Pyramid
Tangeriene Cafe (counter service) in Morocco
the best beer is at the English pub ;)

Liberty Tree Tavern
Crystal Palace
Harbour House (counter service)

HS:
Sci Fi Dine-In theater
