Hello! I'm very new here and still trying to get the hang of this board, and have stumbled across a few posts on playsilks. I had never heard of them before! From the little I have read, they are great for creative play, but I'm just not sure whether or not my kids would like them. We have two DS's, ages 8 and 5 who love to be superheroes, and our DD just turned 3 and loves dressing up like a princess. So do you think playsilks would be a hit? What else can they be used for?

Also, as far as dressing up goes, what are your children's favorite dress-up clothes?

Thank you so much for any direction or advice! I'm just trying to find some alternatives this year to the typical problem of too many toys for Christmas that never get played with. My boys, especially, actually spend more time pretending to be some character themselves than they do actually playing with toys. So I'm looking to try new things!

Here is a thread about playsilks: http://www.windsorpeak.com/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=331599&highlight=playsilks

For your superhero sons, I have heard a lot of people recommend these capes: http://superflykidz.com/

We have 6 playsilks of various sizes. My kids are 5.5, 3.5, and 17 months. They all use them.

They are: capes, bows, blankets for stuffed animals, dresses, veils, peekaboo covers, used in magic tricks, etc.

We got them when DS1 was 2 and they didn't get much play for about 1.5 years after that. Then DD took right to them about 1.5 years old and DS1 joined her.
