Nintendo Wii Deal at Walmart: $50 Gift Card w/Purchase

This deal is arguably as good as, or better than, Amazon's $50 gift card deal that ran a couple of weeks ago. I haven't checked Slickdeals to hear what people are saying about it, but i'm sure there must be posts discussing it.

Walmart targets video games with latest price cuts

SAN FRANCISCO (Reuters) - Wal-Mart Stores Inc is cutting prices on popular video games by $10 each and offering a $50 gift card with the purchase of a Nintendo Wii video game console as the retailer tries to lure shoppers to its U.S. stores ahead of the Christmas holiday.

Now through December 24, Walmart will sell "Rock Band: Beatles" for the Wii for $40, down from $50, and it will offer "Left 4 Dead 2" for Microsoft's Xbox 360 for $50, compared with its previous price of $60.

From December 5 until December 12, Walmart also said that shoppers who buy a Wii in its stores for $199 will also get a $50 Walmart gift card.

I wonder about Amazon too. I'd love to get a wii for christmas. We bought a sony TV on black friday and they had a promo to get the PS3 for free. I'd rather have the wii (as far as gaming goes) but now that we have a PS3, I'm not sure if I want to spend more on another gaming console.

TJ Maxx had them for $159.99 and you won't have to fight the crowds. THey may be sold out but it's worth checking. They were behind the registers.

The TJMaxx in our areas don't have them. I asked several people too just in case that 1 person I asked didn't know.

I think this is the deal I have been waiting for. Target also has a pretty good deal...they are still giving a $20 GC when you buy the Wii, plus there is a printable coupon for a free Nunchuk, and some people are getting a coupon book in the mail with a $10 or $15 GC with a $100/$150 purchase. Works out to about the same net as the Walmart deal. We don't have Target locally though! So it looks like DH or I will be at Walmart at 8 a.m. on Saturday.

Thanks for posting about this - I wasn't aware of Target's nunchuck coupon. Even without the coupon book, I would be happy with the Target deal, and not having to go to Walmart at 8am. This Walmart deal is all over the internet/in the papers, so I bet people will be lining up for this one!! My only other hope is that Amazon has a matching deal!!

As of now, the Wii deal is just in store, so you can't stack the Bing CB on top of it. Boy, it would be nice if you could!

True, but the CB would almost equal the $50 if you buy one of their bundles (or sales - gosh, they have some great prices) online. And then you wouldn't have to fight the crowds! ;)

I went to Walmart today and the man said they have more Wiis than they have ever had, a bunch were sent for the sale. If this holds true for all walmarts you should be able to get this deal for a few days atleast.
