Help! i'm lost in the world of sheets. any advice appreciated.

Egyptian is cotton - just a finer type.

We loooove our bamboo sheets, just to throw another option in the mix.

There isn't one answer to your question. It totally depends on your budget, if the sheets are for you, your LO, your infant in a crib, if you live in cold weather or warm climes, if you value comfort over convenience or if you mind ironing or not, etc.

Personally, I prefer cotton percale. I look the smooth, cool feeling, and I am prepared to live with wrinkles, take them from the dryer hot or iron as necessary. I don't like Sateen or mercerized cotton as I have cats and everything seems to stick to Sateen. I like 600 thread count but seldom find them affordable for my budget. I usually stick with 300 thread count. I don't recommend going below 200 thread count as they tend to be scratchy, thin and wear out quickly.
