View Full Version : Nice Reasonably Priced Cashmere Cardigan?

I drew MIL's name for the gift exchange this year. She is a saint and never treats herself. I thought of cashmere cardigan as something she would appreciate but would never buy for herself. I don't want to spend a fortune but don't want junk either. I haven't had great luck with Land's End lately but they have one under $100.

LL Bean also has one.

I'm also considering JCrew which I imagine is nicer and isn't that much more $$ with the current promo but shipping is really expensive. Do they price match at B & M?

Any other suggestions? TIA!

I have lots of cashmere from Macys.
I think most of it is Charter Club. I LOVE it.
It wears well, and looks as good as the day I bought it,
and some of it as old as 10 years. I have cardies and crewnecks.
I live in it during the winter months in Tahoe.

I get it after Christmas for more than half off (and some as cheap as 5.00 on clearance in March, or April), but they have
great prices leading up to Christmas.

I have a quite a bit of cashmere. I have two Charter Club sweaters from Macy's. One is more than 10 years old and just got little holes in it this year. They other one itches. Go figure. I love my Land's End. I think their quality is superior to Macy's. The sweathers are substantially thicker and softer. Never had LLBean. Ann Taylor is another source for reasonably priced cashmere.

LE has beautiful, thick, soft cashmere sweaters. Mine came in its own storage bag! I also have some JCrew that I got on sale, it's nice, but not as nice as LE...it's thinner and while soft, not super-soft. AT has nice quality cashmere too. You can sometimes find cashmere sweaters at the Rack if you live near one. IIWY, I'd check out LE Overstocks first, then go to the full priced option.

It looks like LE it is. Thanks for your input.

I love my J. Crew cashmere. They have free shipping promos all the time. And if there's a store near you, you can order it in-store (assuming they don't carry what you want) and the shipping is free.
