Last Christmas I bought my dad a nano (I think it was like 2nd gen). He didn't open it and I found it a couple of weeks ago and decided to open and try to use for my running. I've charged it, it doesn't switch on. Done a reset, initially I would get the apple logo and then it would blink off, now I don't even get that.
Any ideas on what may be wrong and what I need to do?

have you tried charging it?

yes, I tried charging for a couple of hours, when it still didn't work, I tried chaging overnight. No luck :(
I'm thinking its either a software problem or the battery is flat out dead.

I received one from a friend. The same thing happened to me. Bring it back to Apple. If it's under a year old, they'll replace it free. Unfortuantely for me, mine was over a year old. They would replace it with the exact same one for $59 or take 10% off of another iPod.

Ugh, I'll have to look for a receipt. But thank you!
