The fabricator is coming today to do the granite. We have a peninsula in the kitchen in which the kids and us will use to eat. The only thing is I am trying to figure out how many inches the granite should hang from the island so that we can sit comfortably. I was told it should be from 10" - 12". Is that correct? Someone had mentioned 15". Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

Ours is 12" so we didn't need an extra support. 12" is comfortable. 15" would be more comfortable but you'd probably need a support!

I think 15" is best for comfort so you know you aren't bumping your knees. I would do 12" only if I was really tight on space. I think 10" is way too tight.

I think 15" is recommended, but then you probably need to support it somehow. I think 12" is not that comfortable. At that point you should think if it even makes sense to do the overhang, since it wont be as usable.
Ours is 12", but we don't use it to eat at. If we did I think I would want the extra 3 inches of space.
