So many Elmo dolls, which to choose?

DD has never seen Sesame Street, so I was shocked when she went bananas today for the Elmo gift wrap at daycare. She not only says, "Elmo" clear as a bell, but she apparently LOVES the doll they bring out specially (Elmo live) and she routinely tries to "borrow" a classmates Elmo doll he brings in from home for naps.

I am a sucker.

DD is getting an Elmo doll for Christmas.

But there are soooo many! I am inclined towards one of the four below but am happy for any advice or recommendations. D will be 17 mo at X-mas.

You want the 14 inch gund one. Its very cute and cuddly :) We have it and Elmo TMX, DD likes the TMX but she loves the other one. Plus its just the right size for a little one. The Elmos that do things have a hard body and kids lose interest in their tricks pretty quickly.

she is now almost 2 and is showing less interest in elmo. we have the big talking one and i dont think i would suggest that one. the kissing one she likes you can get that from walmart for around $17.00, the one she has liked the most is one she sleeps with we got it from toys r us it is about 10" tall and it is washable she sleeps with that one and i have heard her talking to it. that one is safe enough for her to sleep with there is no thick fur for her to pull out or anything. there is also a elmo you can take a bath with never did get that one its made out nylon i thought she would also like that one/. it seems to me the ones that they can carry around and sleep with etc. they like better or i guess i should say thats the ones our little one likes.:)

Our 18 month old is getting elmo chatters for christmas..its a decent size elmo for him to carry around and when you shake it or lift its mouth it makes noise. He might also be getting tickle me elmo or elmo live from his grandmother not sure yet. The elmo chatters isnt very heavy so he can carry it around and snuggle with it. We have tried showing him just stuffed elmos in different sizes but he had no interest because they didn't do anything.
