ipod touch? - iphone os 3.0 or later

i just bought dh an ipod touch for xmas. i've been browsing apps and noticed most, if not all say that it requires "iphone os 3.0 or later". does the touch come with that, if it's not the phone? tia

Assuming it's 3G then yes. If it's a 2G you will likely have to buy a $5 upgrade which you can get on itunes.

If you just bought it, it's almost certainly 3G
