Ugh, I have to think of a few more ideas for family members and I'm blanking! Probably should be around $15/$20. This should be easier...here's what she's already getting from Santa or family:

*art tote with supplies
*colored pencil set/journal
*some talking baby
*microphone
*some Playmobil sets
*personalized apron
*baby bathtub set
*a few puzzles and games
*some books
*Corolle Tidoo
*plasma car

She loves art so I can always have them get more art stuff, but thought I'd see if there's something great out there that I'm spacing on. thanks!

Some ideas:

CDs
movies
play groceries
dress up
play-doh (a set like burger builder, or something)
crayola color wonder sets

I know there have been a few threads posted about this age group. Try searching...I am blanking on other ideas. :)

ETA: doll high chair, jewelry box...

Here's a link of a past thread.

Thanks for the ideas and the link! I just remembered she likes Do Dots or whatever those are, could suggest a pack of those and a Do Dot activity book...and she loves the Color Wonder sets, that's a great idea.

My dd is getting:

Ikea tent
A couple anamalz
Glue sticks (this will probably be the biggest hit of all)
Set of Kevin Henkes books (boxed set from Costco)
Fancy Nancy book
Cookbook for preschoolers
Playfoam (i am hoping this is all the fun of playdoh without the mess)
Cat anatomy puzzle (a little weird, but she's obsessed with anatomy)
Rainboots
playdress/leggings set from Lands End
Corolle Tidoo

ETA: I'm like a broken record about this, but my dd LOVES her doctor's kit.

My DD has already started getting her gifts since we do Hanukkah too. The big success has been the Haba Orchard game, which I would highly recommend to anyone with a child in this age group. She loves it. It's about $35. She also loved the oil pastels she got.

Other things she hasn't gotten yet:
--animal puppets by Folkmanis
--dot-a-dot markers
--modelling clay
--poster paints for her easel
--book and CD of the Barefoot book of princesses
--other books
--kiddie jewelry
--more Haba board games
--we need some more stocking stuffers!
--I have a bunch of Hanna Andersson clothing for her but have been clearly told by her that clothes are not gifts for kids! I remember this as a kid myself, and I see her point. Will probably make it under the tree along with other gifts.

One idea for your DD is the Melissa and Doug beadwork kit - my DD got this for her birthday this year and loves it. She spends lots of time working on stringing the beads together and making necklaces. Something like this: http://www.wonderbrains.com/flower-power-wooden-bead-kit.html

We also love They Might be Giants, Here come the 123s CD - perfect stocking stuffer!

DD just turned 3 so some of these were birthday (and some were gifts from others) and some are joint gifts to share w/ her older brother:

dressup/tutu
puzzles
Haba Sleeping Princess game
guitar from Land of Nod (joint gift)
Play Doh burger builder (joint gift)
Fisher Price loving family dollhouse (her big Christmas gift, and this was purchased at a consignment sale in almost new condition, was super cheap at $35 furnished). I had to shell out extra money for some LF people to go in the house :)
Magnatiles (we already have a set of 100; this is another set of 100 to share with DS)
Playmobil horse farm (from Costco) from my mom
some replacement arts/crafts stuff (new markers, new paper pads, etc. I just use the holidays as an excuse to replenish our consumable stuff as needed).
funky fun socks
Green Toys tea set (from my parents for her bday)
M&D slice and bake cookie set (from my parents for her bday)
eta: her big bday gift was a phthalate-free Jump O Lene. Total waste of money. It sprung a leak in a seam after 3 days. We are within the 30 day warranty period, but in order to get a replacement, you need to pay return shipping to them which is $25. The item itself is a $50ish item, so not really worth it. We will patch ours, but I'm sure it is not going to hold up considering my kids are well within the weight limits and it sprung a leak 3 days into using it.

A couple puzzles
AG Bitty Twins were technically early birthday presents a month or so ago
M&D Ice Cream Set, Pantry Foods, Fridge Foods

Christmas (already purchased):
Leapster Princess Game
Tinkerbell Lost Treasure DVD/Bluray
princess dresses for Bitty Twins
matching hoodie and doll from Happy Green Bee
Playwonder wood shopping cart
Cherry Blossom Market
Oball

Circo cheap wands/scepters
Doctor Kit
Play Wallet
Umbrella
Fancy Nancy books
Art supplies

NOT getting, but tempted to buy:
Rody horse
pettiskirt

I feel like my list this year is too toy heavy and is lacking in books/arts/educational stuff. Might have to shift some stuff for that reason.
