This could easily turn into a b&tch, but I'll post it here in hopes of some help!

MIL seems to ask us for jewelry every year. Ridiculous if you ask me, but expected! I guess she likes what we pick out. Too bad I never see her where any of it. :irked:

She supposedly asked SIL for something super cheap, yet asked us to get her pearl earrings, a single peal necklace- or BOTH! ha! She did say she doesn't care about the quality...so where can I find inexpensive pearls? She mentioned Kohl's but they were still too much.

Any thoughts?

Etsy has some pretty ones ~ I entered single pearl necklace and a bunch popped up

This one is very simple and pretty and only $18 (+3.75 shipping)

Freshwater pearls are cheaper than cultured pearls. You can also find freshwater cultured pearls which are basically freshwater pearls that are smooth and round and so appear just like cultured pearls.

You can see a ton of different kinds on the QVC website.

Of course, my best pearls are my fake ones. I've gotten really nice ones from Macy's. I like them because I don't have to worry about damaging them with hairspray or perfume and they are more uniform in color, size, and shape.

Looks like Amazon has some options...

Some in the counter at Sam's Club caught my eye a few weeks ago. I recall they were not expensive. I read somewhere that the wholesale clubs are good for jewelry deals.

Apparently today is "pearl" day at Kohls, so they have extra savings on top of their coupon codes. You can find more info here http://slickdeals.net/forums/showthread.php?t=1744956

Free? Really? Is there some catch- even though it says no catch?! I'd get her a whole freakin' string of pearls if they were free!!!

I second QVC....Check out the "Honora" brand. They are very affordable and I'm really happy with the necklace and earrings I have.

My mom's cousin is making me some bracelets for Christmas gifts. Once you guys mentioned cultured vs freshwater I asked her if she had any pearls. Turns out she has smooth freshwater pearls. She put together a pair of earrings and a beautiful pendant on a really pretty chain for about $50. Score!!!!

If MIL doesn't them I'll keep them for myself.

Thanks for the help!!
