DC got it last week and recovered very well after getting Tamiflu. The Ped refused to take the test to confirm whether it was actually the H1N1 but mentioned that it mostly was. DC had the seasonal flu shots but not the H1N1vaccines as they were not available. Now they are but does DC still need the H1N1 vaccines?

Around here, the recommendation is that unless you have had a *confirmed* case of H1N1, you should still get the shot.

HTH!

I'm NOT a scientist but: I don't think so. The vaccine mimics what happens when you get the disease..... in other words, provides equivalent immunization.

My friend's son tested positive for H1N1 on the first sort of preliminary test in the doctors office. His results weren't sent to a lab. His doctor still recommended the shot for him.

When will be the safe time to get the shots? DC had the flu last week and just finished the Tamiflu on Sunday.

My DCs got H1N1 this summer when it first went around. I got them vaxed last week--first time it was available for us. Just covering the bases!!
