View Full Version : Quick chocolate bark recipe help!

I'm making the chocolate bark recipe that's been discussed in another thread....the one made with saltime crackers. My question is this....when you melt the butter and brown sugar together and "cook 3 minutes" does it need to boil? Will boiling ruin it?! Or does it make no difference?

I posted that horrible/wonderful recipe.

I don't think I ever knowingly just let it boil - when it finally all melts, I keep stirring until it gets mixed together. You can kind of see it changes color and becomes a deep goldeny color, not yellow butter and brown sugar.

DOes that make any sense at all???? I don't think boiling will ruin it though - it doesn't have to boil down or reach a certain temp (like candy making) though.

YUM!!! Now I want some. :)

This recipe is so awesome! It's so much better than you can imagine based on the simple ingredients. It really needs to have a warning...."highly addictive- may gain 5 pounds per batch!"
