I work for the federal government and we only got half a day off this year instead of the full day we've gotten in the past, so I'm here with a bunch of griping people.

We get out 2 hours early (3, instead of 5), if that makes you feel any better.

Me! We don't get Christmas Eve as a holiday, but I'm planning to let my team leave at 2pm so we can all get some last minute shopping done!

I'm at work till 1! Less then an hour left! It has been an extremely boring day in the office.

I think I'm actually irritating the bosses, because I'm doing work and sending it on to them. I don't think that's what they had in mind for today.

Dh has a regular work day, although he thinks it'll probably be pretty quiet. He *might* come home a wee bit early.

I was planning to be, but decided this morning to take a personal day. I'm monitoring email and took a conference call from home. Our office was closing at 1:30 p.m. anyway and there's hardly been anyone around since Tuesday of this week.

OMG I wish I were at work! DD is driving me NUTS! And we're stuck at home waiting for FedEx to deliver her last present . . .

At work until 2pmPST with hopes order ops back East has gone home by then.

Need to bail at 3pm at the latest - DS is playing Joseph in the Christmas pageant tonight.

It's me, facilities, the Finance Director and bunch of unhappy order ops personnel here. Why are we here - many of our customers have a two week shut-down, not likely we'll get too many orders between now and 12/31 but we'll be here!

I'm turning in work to the Finance Director as well, he's turning it around pretty darn quick. He's got three kids at home, so I'm hoping he'll send us home early.

eta: 1pm, Finance director came by and sent us all home! hooray!

I am here until 2 when the office officially closes, but technically I am working from 12 to 1 and taking my lunch hour from 1 to 2. There shouldn't be a problem with that!:cheerleader1:

Not me, but only because I took a vacation day. It was a regular work day for my company, albeit with 2 hour early dismissal for the holiday.

I'm here, because, you know, everybody is really focused on buying new furniture Chrismas Eve. We've had 3 customers. All day. At least we close at 6 instead of 9.

I've been working all day on an import that has to clear Sunday night, and can only be handled at specific airfields due to the nature of the cargo. Took several calls while at the Dallas Aquarium (reception was good near the tree sloth, but terrible down by the manatees). More calls during lunch, and then a flurry of emails once I got back to BIL's house.

If this don't beat it all, it's 1209 Christmas morning and here I sit at work, but at least I will be at home by the time my DS opens his presents in the morning. :boogie: Unfortunately the hospital never closes. :)

Merry Christmas everyone...

Merry Christmas everyone...

My husband is in a similar situation- working until 11:30 on Christmas Eve. Hospitals never darken. It's still the 24th for 45 minutes in this time zone. :wavey:

My work for today consisted of dropping by the office to give the people working there all day (we were open from 9-6) treats, scanning the mail for donation $$, running by the bank to drop said donations in our account and then calling 3 people to schedule second interviews for next week. Everyone gets to take 1 day off either before or after Christmas with pay (since we are open the 24th, not everyone can take it the 24th). I basically took the day off but since we have not hired an admin yet, I didn't want to leave checks sitting around unopened until Monday.

I'm on call this whole week starting Christmas Eve through New Year's Eve, so I'll be at work today as well. :( Merry Christmas! Hoping it doesn't get too busy so we can have time to open presents together.
