Where do you keep Epipens (and inhalers, for that matter) when you are skiing, sledding, skating, etc.? Are there special insulated holders or something that I can clip to DD1?

DD1 is starting to do a lot of outdoor activities without us right next to her (skiing with school, ski lessons, skating on pond at friends' house, etc.) and I realized that I haven't come up with a good solution. :bag

Help!

I don't have any advice, just wanted to share that I took DS ice skating by myself today. Usually we all go, but DD wanted to stay home so I left DH behind with the girls. I didn't want to take a purse or diaper bag b/c I don't have a lock for the lockers. It wasn't until we were about 2 minutes away that I realized I left the epi and Benedryl at home. :bag. Oops!

Quite honestly, I used to leave it in my skating bag, in a locker.

As I've gotten older and my anaphylactic reactions worse, I got a sippy rocket from JJB (http://www.shopjujube.com/Product.aspx?l=00040005000000000000&p=JJB01243) and started putting my epi-pen, benadryl & other meds there for safe keeping. I find it much easier to keep the small sippy rocket closeby than to keep an entire diaper bag nearby.

Wow, that's quite a list! Thanks for posting the link.

thanks for the suggestions!
Unfortunately, a number of the links on that looooong list are dead. But that certainly looks like a good blog (and I learned about the Epi redesign!).

I reallllly like the look of that JuJuBe hard-sided case for me to carry around but it looks too bulky for DD1 or chaperone to have on the slopes. I've been putting the Epi in an inside breast pocket of my jackets. I'm afraid if DD1 does that, she will fall while skiing (of course!) and the case will jab into her.

So far, the only insulated one I've found is this one:

I'm kind of surprised there isn't a higher demand for insulated ones (whether for heat or cold). Last winter - our first in VT and our first with Epi's - we froze 2 Epi's by leaving them in the car (and by "we", I mean DH :tongue5:).

thanks again.

I've been meaning to get an insulated case. I'll have to investigate these links when I have more time. I'm really anal about taking my purse/diaper bag in and out of the car so the epi isn't in extreme temps. Unfortunately, I've had to replace a few b/c DH isn't so good about that.
