Just curious what kind of PB ppl use. Natural? Reduced fat? Regular? What brand? And why do you use that particular kind? Or if you use another kind of nut butter, and why.

Thanks!

Same here. I am definitely a fan of crunchy NOT creamy. And unsalted.

Fresh pb from Whole Foods or Trader Joe's store brand. I avoid PHO for sure.

All-natural, nothing but nuts, crunchy. Mainly DH's preference, but I've come to prefer it too b/c it has a peanuttier taste than regular PB. The only drawback is having to refrigerate it & then it's hard to spread.

I feel no qualms about full-fat b/c peanut butter fat is good fat.

Natural, organic PB for us. We use WF's grind your own pb or almond butter sometimes. Most often we buy TJ's organic valencia pb, crunchy. No added stuff.

Soybutter and sunbutter b/c of DS's peanut allergy. Back when I ate pb, I like the regular, crunchy. I heard that if you buy the reduced fat, they just add more sugar to compensate. I'd rather have peanut oil than a bunch of added sugar.

:yeahthat:

Before, when I could have PB in the house, I ate natural PB, either crunchy or smooth, but the kind you have to stir. Yuuuuum. I miss my PB!

All natural crunchy Skippy (http://www.amazon.com/dp/B001E4S8C8/ref=asc_df_B001E4S8C8994674?smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER&tag=googlecom09c9-20&linkCode=asn&creative=380341&creativeASIN=B001E4S8C8)
I'd like to get organic, but I REALLY like the no-oil mess, no-stir, no refrigeration of this Skippy. When I had the other, it just didn't get eaten. This stuff gets gobbled down just like regular PB used to.

Yup. We do Skippy Natural in the creamy. DH just does not "do" the refrigerated kind, and I like the no muss- no fuss of it all too.

Natural and crunchy - so yummy!!!

Now, if I could just get DS to eat it - in any form - it's the last dang nut on the list!!! Maybe I will smear it on him as he sleeps :tongue5:

I prefer the natural kind. Chunky. Unsalted. On whole grain bread. To stir, I dump it into a mixing bowl and get everything all combined properly before I stick it in the fridge. If I use it quickly enough, it doesn't have time to get hard and dry before the jar is empty. (Yeah, I know, I obviously don't have kids yet!)

DH, on the other hand, flips out about fat content, so I buy store-brand reduced fat. He also prefers creamy to chunky. (What's the point????)

I tried the Skippy natural but was on some kind of health freakout and stopped getting it because it's got coconut oil or something in it and I didn't want to eat a lot of whatever it was. (I go through these phases, you know?)

:yeahthat: peanut allergy (DD) here too. I never was a huge fan of PB anyway, I do love honey roasted and cocktail peanuts though....

Bad for the environment. "The two leading producers of palm oil, Malaysia and Indonesia, have rapidly expanded palm oil production in recent years, often at the expense of biodiverse rainforests and carbon-rich peatlands that store billions of tons of greenhouse gases. Environmentalists say that due to these factors, burning of palm oil can at times be more damaging the global climate than the use of fossil fuels. "

Bad working conditions for the people involved with the production is another thing I have read.
