My almost 2-year-old twin boys, both really late teethers, pretty much ignore Sophie in favor of their fingers. But they've never liked her that much. Maybe you would have better luck ...

I was thinking about buying one for a friend, and when I asked if her child had Sophie, she said no because it's too expensive for a teether. I had no idea because I'm only expecting my first in April - but is Sophie really that indulgent?

My 7 month old loves his. I thought it was crazy to spend that kind of money but it really is his favorite!

My DS got Sophie for Christmas. I'd never really understood the appeal of them, but both DS and DD are infatuated with Sophie. DS really does like to chew on it. DD (2.5 years old) had 500 stuffed animals, but carries her brother's Sophie around the house and talks to her. Don't know if that's just my strange kid or what.
