I'm sorry if this repeats some info from Emmasmom...and I often wonder about how she is - I miss you if you're reading this! :) ...

I have an old friend (who lives far away) who has been diagnosed with Non-Hodgkin's lymphoma. She is undergoing aggressive treatment and among other things, will lose her hair. I can't help by babysitting or bringing meals since I'm not in the area, but I would love to send her a fun wig/hat/scarf. She has a bit of a crazy side that would be fun to indulge now, and I'd like to send her something totally fun or just cute, and not necessarily practical (she has a "normal" wig already as well as natural colors she's always wanted to try).

Does anyone have links to sites like that? TIA!

This is not a site specifically for cancer patients, but they do have a wide variety of head coverings. I have never ordered from there (I cover my hair for religious reasons) but I think my sister has.

I was thinking of the same site. I haven't ordered from them either but I know a lot of people who have. I don't know if they are wild and crazy enough for your friends-check it out

My sister has brain cancer, and lost much of her hair after radiation, and it won't return. She buys head scarves all over the place. Her favorite place to check is Nordstrom Rack. Do you have one near you? There are places online where you can find different fun knots to spice up the scarves from day to day.

She says her head is really sensitive, and she hates wearing anything scratchy, so look for soft material and 100% cotton (no wool!). In the summer she wears cotton bandanas. She also gets really cold in the winter, and likes to wear soft, fleecy hats around the house, or out and about...like these:

I got your e-mail Molly & will respond separately but you got me thinking about the board...my "baby" is four years old today and my Emma is in first grade so we're well past the baby stage. I've kind of taken a break from posting but I'm doing well and my hair is growing in like crazy now. I've got two more chemo treatments and then my implant exchange surgery and then I'll be pretty much done! Which is very exciting. :)

I'm sorry to hear about your friend and wish her well during her treatment. I was never a scarf person and I have one wig that I wore once in awhile. Mostly I wore hats. I've gotten most of my hats at www.tlcdirect.org (http://www.windsorpeak.com/vbulletin/www.tlcdirect.org) and www.headcovers.com (http://www.windsorpeak.com/vbulletin/www.headcovers.com). It's all personal taste though, I just liked comfortable hats.

Thanks everyone! Those all look great, and now I have some shopping to do :)

Kristine, I totally understand not hanging around here as much with older kids now, but I'm also really glad to hear that you're doing well and almost done with all the cancer-related stuff!
