I have a good question for all you carseat-fanatics out there, lol!

What is the maximum strength allowed on lower latch anchors in vehicles? Is it a standard 48lbs or 40lbs? I know it's metal welded to metal, and one of the associates at BBB said, your car doesn't have any weight requirements for the latch anchors...Huh? I thought she was wrong, but I might be wrong... because if there is a weight limit, what is the point of a super latch going to 80lbs on the new Radians??? If I have to switch to a belt install at 50lbs, it seems useless, hence why I am asking the question. Again, I am a newbie here so maybe I am confused. THANKS "again" :D

It depends on the car you have. Honda's LATCH go to 40 lbs, then you have to switch to seatbelt. Toyota I believe says you can use the carseat LATCH limit (for Britax that is 48 lbs). I'm sure there are other's who will add to this with more detailed explanation.
