View Full Version : Question about selling Gymbucks on CL

I was not sure where to post this so I decided here and the Kidswear section.

I've never sold Gymbucks to a stranger before.
But someone off CL wants my Gymbucks.

I marked off my name, address, and CC # with Black Ink.
Are there any other things I should cross off since I'm handing off my receipt to a complete stranger?

Also, doing this does not effect the value of the Gymbuck, right?

Additionally, I returned some stuff but it doesn't affect the value of the Gymbuck--since the total still comes out to more than $50 (I have a $25 Gymbuck), so do I need to include the return receipt along with the original receipt?

TIA!

When I've sold them on CL, I say that they are for online use only. Then, I just email them the code and pin number. This way they don't need my receipt.

Thanks for the reply.

How do you collect the money? I have a paypal account but I rarely use it.

Do you get paid first, then give out the code?

Yes, have them paypal you first and then you email them the code.

I believe it is starting tomorrow.

be careful - on the fine print, that's against gymboree policy, and if they catch you, they'll void the code.

of course, catching you isn't likely, but be aware.

They started redemption a day early, but the gymbuck said Jan14th....in store they do require a receipt and with all the info crossed out the sales associate is going to know that the person is not the original purchaser and they have the right not to honor the code (it's clearly marked that they aren't transferrable). I think the best thing to do is just cancel the transaction or let the person know it can be used online only...it can be used in store but the receipt needs to be with it and of course you don't want a stranger with all your info.

Thanks! I emailed her and asked if she plans on using it online.
I did not specify that in my original posting.

She wants to meet tonight so I guess I should tell her it's online use only.
I feel bad I didn't think to do that from the beginning but I guess it's better than someone having my info.

I usually give my gymbucks away or use them--never sold them before.
I'll know next time to do it this way.

Thanks for the advice.

I lowered my price (I felt bad) and told her it was for online use only b/c I messed with my receipt and might void her transaction.
