Lunch: Roll-up question

I've been compiling ideas for packed lunches from old threads and had a question:

Several people mention roll-ups with a meat or a meat and cheese combo. Are these just the meat and cheese rolled together, or is there a tortilla or something? And how do you keep them together?

For my older ds I have been known to roll lunch meat around a stick of cheese. I've done it with crunchy breadsticks too.

Otherwise I just do it in a tortilla. A bit of cream cheese is a good glue. But just squishing them a bit works too.

I use a whole wheat tortilla. Hummus makes good "glue" for these (although my kid prefers just cheese and nothing else).
