Crib Mattress Height Question

How many "levels" of crib mattress height do you think a crib needs? I see a lot that have 3 levels and I imagine this would be enough, but I am not sure.

I don't know how many mine has, but 3 is all I've used. High up for newborn stage. A mid-level when they can roll and sit and a low level once they can pull up and stand.

We only used two of the five on our crib (probably because we used the pack 'n play bassinet for the first six months, and after that, she was rolling). And it would have been OK to only have the lowest setting, because she was only in the middle for a few months.
