I've posted before about the troubles (http://www.windsorpeak.com/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=326066&highlight=bfing+makes) I've had breastfeeding all three DC. Yesterday, the LC who rents pumps and scales and I see all the time at our gym, called me to tell me my main LC, who is the head of lactation at our hospital, is in really, really bad shape. About 5 mos ago, she was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. By this time, DS2 and I had somewhat stabilized with a routine that worked well enough. I didn't know anything has been going on, so it was shocking to hear about her. She's a nationally recognized author, speaks at IBCLC conferences, and is just a sweet, sweet woman. They just updated her website to say she is weak but lucid and saying goodbye to many of her family and friends as they rally around her. The world is losing a hero in the world of breastfeeding this weekend. Please lift her up in prayer.

Sending prayers her way. It seems like there have been so many tragic cancer stories around me in recent months.

Thanks for your prayers, everyone. I just checked in there's no new news, but 6 more touching stories today (out of the 12,000 messages total) from moms whose lives she touched. She was just one of those people who was uber-helpful and patient to new moms. I cry just thinking she won't be around.
