I saw it at the Gap last weekend in an olive color. Didn't try it on, but was thinking it might look good with jeans. Something other than my Lululemon hoodies....

I'm 43. 5'9", athletic build. I generally don't wear belted anything, though I can pull it off height-wise.

TIA

I don't think so. I'm 40 and I would wear it.

I don't think that's a teeny bopper jacket - totally fine for a 43 yr old or 53 yr old for that matter!

Of course, you're not!

Totally cute! I think you'd look great in it.

BTW, my mom wears that sort of thing all the time and it looks fab because she's tall...and she's 70!!! (she's always been very non-traditional stylewise for her age)

Doesn't strike me as youthful...strikes me as casual-classy, if that can be a thing.

Thanks ladies -- now watch, it will be sold out when I go back to the store, LOL.

I'm picturing it with my (not super) skinny jeans.

Also in that same "utility" line from the Gap is a super cute camo skirt. Didn't see it in the store, but will be stalking it.

Me too! Although I never can wear that belted look - it always looks so great on everyone else, no matter what their body type, but I always feel frumpy once I belt anything. I'm proud of you for going with something that you know isn't your normal dress code, KWIM? I wish I had someone like you to shop with!

I have something like that on now in courderoy, and am 40.5, 5'6" with an athletic build, and I like it. I think you can look as young or old as you want to look, and while I don't want to look like a teenager, I like to have a little bit of trend to my outfit (especially in a neighborhood where mom's of daughters my age are often just turning 30). I say go for it!

Totally cute :jammin: I'll have to try it on next time I am in the mall.

ETA: Tried it on yesterday, and while I do like the way it looks on me, I am not crazy about the very light, at least for a jacket, fabric, and wrinkled finish. I might buy it if it were on sale. I've paid ~$70 for a nice corduroy blazer at Brooks Brothers outlet right after Christmas, so I don't feel like paying $80 for this GAP jacket.

I'm 40 and have a similar jacket.

And I'm only 5'2".
