Does anyone wash their Radian seat covers?

I was reading the manual online and it says to hand wash but is it possible to machine wash... or will this harm the fabric?

I have washed mine in a front loader and drip dry. They haven't held up as well as the Britax covers, but I don't have any reason to think that is because of the washing (it's not like I washed it and suddenly a hole appeared). I really think it is the different material and different fit. The Radian cover is very form fitting and when a kid steps on it there isn't much give like the Britax covers which are only held on by the elastic around the edge.
