Name this vintage kitchen item!!!

I bought this at a thrift store for 50cents, because I thought it was cute and intriguing. I have no idea what it is though! At first I thought it was a toaster cover, but the shape isn't quite right. I'm really curious.....TIA!

Bread basket warmer. Line your basket with it and wrap it around your warm bread/ rolls and it will keep them warm on the table.

You guys are so smart....It could probably work for any of those purposes....I love going to thrift stores although DH is really disturbed that I sometimes purchase items I can't even identify....

We have a few of those --it's for bread or rolls to keep them warm, but let out or soak up steam so they stay fresh longer.

ETA- My favorite one had little magnets sew inside to keep it closed. DD used to love pulling it apart and making it magically stick back together.
