I am looking for an inexpensive, basic pair of snowshoes for 5 year old DS.
Does anyone have these, or others?

We got the Little Bear ones this year from LL Bean for DD who is 2.5 years old. They have been fun to use around our yard and at parks.

Thanks for replying! I am assuming that you got the 14" ones...do you know up to what shoe size they will be good for?

They will work up to 50 pounds. They have a wide opening and the straps form around a standard boot. I'm not sure what shoe size they would work up to, but my DD (2.5) has them on the very smallest setting and lots of extra strap. They have a slide mechanism (think Fisher Price Roller Skates) that allows you to unscrew them and slide them to a larger or smaller size. Hope this is making sense. Let me know if you have more questions.

we have the little bear ones too. I fully expected them to be a big hit, but both of my boys found snow shoeing frustrating and more work than walking in the snow with only their boots.
