Thanks for sharing this. I think it might be time to clean out my lingerie drawer.

What a great idea - I'm going to send in my maternity and nursing bras! I still have them even though my youngest is almost 5 and I stopped nursing when he was 1!!! I felt so guilty just throwing them away!

Thank-you so much for posting this! I have a bunch of bras that I will never be able to wear again (thanks to DS2, I have increased 3 cupsizes even after weaning!!), that are in pratically perfect condition. Also, nursing bras and such. :) Yay!

Awesome! I think I just threw some out, but I am sure I have more!

Very cool.

My grandmother died a couple of months ago and my parents were going through her clothing. They found over 40 bras, all the exact same brand, style, size and color; mostly barely used. I wish I had known about this charity before, I think they just donated them to a thrift store.

Can you imagine having that many bras?!?

Umm... I just went and counted the ones I set aside to send off to recycle... I have 36. :bag They are almost all Victoria's Secret pre-DS2, but post-DS1, in nearly perfect shape. Is this not normal?

:ROTFLMAO:maybe I'm the weird one. I just have so much trouble finding bras that fit that I have never owned more than maybe 10 at a time. And that's also counting my 3 or 4 sports bras!

I think right now I have 6. Granted I REALLY need to go shopping for more undergarments.

Thanks for posting. I just cleaned out my drawer and have a bunch to get rid of and this is perfect.

Thank you for the link. I've been donating to the urban mission here, but not sure if they are really handing them out or not.

I won't say what normal is, but that's waaaay more than I have! Of course VS bras don't fit me (their so-called DDs are a joke!), so 36 bras that I have to buy would be a lot of money. I think I have 5 or so.

Thanks! I just donated a ton 2 weeks ago (hopefully they won't just throw them away). I'll save this for future use.

I used to have a VS shopping addiction pre ds1 but even then I never had 36 bras. Maybe a dozen or even as many as 20, but I don't think so. :)

I love this idea, only I think I'm in the minority here. I only have 5 bras I wear, and in the drawer are a few maternity bras waiting until my regular ones just don't fit anymore (getting closer every day :() two nursing bras and then my strapless one.

Clearly I need more bras! ;)

Thanks for posting. I actually was actually just cleaning and couldn't decide what to do with my bras. DH didn't think I should donate them because it was like donating underwear. I didn't agree!

And I have some in very very good condition (and some nursing bras that never quite fit) in larger sizes. This'll be perfect when I clean again!

that's awesome! I have some in nearly perfect condition Wacoal 34Ds from my first pregnancy that I know I will never be able to fit in again, and I'd really hate to just throw them in the trash.

Thanks for posting this! Once my weight stabilizes and I finally settle into a size, I'll be culling my lingerie drawer.

Okay... so tell me where you buy your bras! VS definitely does not fit anymore, I was a 34B then, now a 34DD! I have 2 new ones that fit great from Nordstroms, but I am thinking I would like a couple more- the others that the sales lady had me try on just didn't fit quite right. I may just go get the same one in a few new different colors... Where else does one buy quality bras?

I get mine at Nordstrom's, and then look for the same ones at the Rack and TJ Maxx. I'm a 32 band size which is hard because apparently women aren't built with small ribcages and bigger boobs  In any case the VS idea of a "D" is a joke. Wish they still fit me though, because of their sales and the cushier straps on some of my older models. There was an online store I bought a few at as well but I got po'ed at their customer service so I won't go back there (Barenecessities).

Nordstrom is good, but independent lingerie shops have done me well. There are a couple here in DC, and there was one I went to in LA that I liked. There are so many brands I'd never heard of, that even Nordstrom doesn't carry. I try on tons, until I find ones I really like.

I think this is neat, I do.
Just curious--Goodwill and SA take bras too though, right?

I've probably got around 50 bras. :love-retry: I mainly rotate through the same 10-15. The rest are specialty bras, or styles that I've fallen out of love with.

I think I own every color of the rainbow!

I'm really glad to see the info from the OP, because now I have a way to thin the herd -- I just couldn't bring myself to throw them away. (I had heard that Goodwill and SA throw bras away -- they are undergarments, after all.)

Oh, and to the poster who needs a "real" DD-cup not from VS -- try a Cacique store -- the band sizes start at 36 and go up to 48. www.cacique.com (http://www.cacique.com) ***DISCLAIMER -- I work for Lane Bryant/Cacique as a bra fit specialist.*** If anyone is in the Phoenix area, I know several independent specialty stores as well.

I buy mine when they go on sale at Kohl's. They are $$ but not too bad on sale.

Very cool - I just sent some off to Goodwill. I'll have to remember this.

I currently own 2 bras that fit. One is my Goddess that I wear every day and the other is my Bravado that DH won't allow me to leave the house in due to the saggy uniboob it gives me. :hysterical: Otherwise, I've got my Medela that I wore while I was pregnant that doesn't fit any more, my 3 pre-pregnancy bras, and my 2 sports bras that don't fit any more; holding on to those hoping that they'll fit again someday ... but I'm losing hope on that!
