They cancelled school here in anticipation of a big storm and so far nothing but a few flakes!

What's it like out by you?

(Southern NH) There was an early release, so the kids have been home since 11:30.

The ground is just wet. What a HUGE disappointment. If I knew it was going to be this lame, I would have stayed in Nashua and ran my errands.

It's just not cold enough. There's been a ton of rain, but that's it.
Would be delighted to not have a crippling snowstorm if I didn't have to leave work at 10 a.m. due to the daycare closing *sigh*

I'm so sick of hearing about "the snow is coming" and there are only 3 flakes.

I would love some snowflakes in Ga to go with our 28 degree daytime temps and wind advisory..

They are talking of snow on Fri but we have the worst forecasters ever so I doubt we will see anything :(

Hardly anything here! DDs had early release today, and for WHAT?? Unless these teeny flakes are going to keep on coming for 12hs or so. Sheesh. Lots of hype over nothing.

We have about 4 or 5 inches so far. School was cancelled last night in anticipation of the 'big' storm. They could have gone and not used up a snow day. Sigh :)

Really? It's a big bust? I thought I just saw that NYC has a lot of wind and about 2 inches falling an hour. Not true?

Former Connecticutian here. Spoke to my mother who is still in CT and she says they don't have much at all. Here in the Phila suburbs we are getting bombarded and I am loving every minute of it. Reminds me of winters when I was a kid. Of course, I don't have to go anyway so I am enjoying it from my window. ;)

Technically, NYC isn't part of New England. :tongue5:

Both DS's had early dismissal today. At least that way we don't have to make up the day. I think the weather forecast says the heaviest snow is coming at 7pm.

I'm south of boston and they decided to close school here yesterday, and so far we have 0 accumulation. I'm wondering if it is going to get worse tonight? I don't see us ending up with 12 inches like they predicted.

Oh details, details.

This is the storm that fools us into thinking that all the rest of the winter will be the same way, and we'll get slammed in April.

And they won't cancel school.

I'm still hoping :)

We're having flurries right now, just hoping for it to start sticking and to snow harder!!! We had a full day of school....one good thing about living in a town that never cancels

I'm in central Mass and we have about 3-4 inches on the ground right now and it's still lightly snowing. Not a big deal storm at all!! The main roads are just wet and even our little road is totally fine. Thankfully our district didn't cancel and only released the students early. DH just went out to get pizza and said that driving was fine. We've had much worse this winter!!

Only a dusting of snow here north of Boston. DH missed half a day of work because DD's daycare closed at 2:30 and DS's at 12:30. The roads weren't even slick!

Total bust here in Western MA. I just peeked and we have _maybe_ a half inch. They closed the schools here, too, but not DD's daycare. My office actually closed early-- all of our patients *wanted* to reschedule their appointments, so things were dead by 3pm. For once I got to pick DD up at daycare-- she was really surprised and happy.

Then she wanted to go sledding in the "new snow" (a dusting at that point). I'm hoping we have real "new snow" for tomorrow.

technically ny is not part of new England. sports fans ESP. red sox fans are sure of that (Yankees :irked:).

we have about 4-5 inches, it started about 5pm. falling pretty quickly. keep it coming!!! hoping for a day off from school tomorrow.

Same here. They canceled school last night and I woke up this morning
anticipating mass amounts of snow. Nothing.

This was the lamest snowfall ever! I am feeling totally gypped.

Anyone else think we're getting Punk'd by Mother Nature? Like, next week, they will predict scattered flurries, and we end up getting 4' of snow?
