So, tomorrow is a big day for me. I am turning 40 tomorrow. I live in the DC suburbs. I have been snowed in or stuck with sick kids for 10 days. DH has not been here the whole time as he lives in NC during the week and couldn't get here during the big storm last weekend. He was supposed to come home tonight but the weather has messed that up. We had planned to go out to dinner tomorrow night, but the babysitter doesn't think she can get to us.

I hate to whine, but isn't it hard enough to turn 40? How much does it suck that it looks like tomorrow will be just another day snowed in with 2 kids and a large, wet dog?

I have a vivid memory of my Dad missing my Mom's 40th birthday - he was out of town on business and due to weather he didn't make it home on time. She went out and bought herself a grand piano that she had always wanted to make up for it.

So...anything you've always wanted? I think this may be your time to splurge!

Happy Birthday!!!! Give your kids and dog a big hug and try your best to count your blessings! I was VERY prego with DD2 for my 40th. I decided to celebrate 40 weeks instead of 40 years! ;)

Definitely reschedule and enjoy your belated celebration.

Wha ha ha ha! That's some present. Wonder what Dh would think if I went and bought myself a grand piano for my bday? :hysterical:

OP, Happy Birthday! I agree with pp, don't turn 40 till you celebrate!

UPDATE!!!!!:cheerleader1:

He DID make it into town very late last night. He and the boys took me out to lunch today. The babysitter DID arrive on time and we had a lovely dinner out just the two of us.

My present was the iPhone that I had already been playing with!

I am so glad he was here and today was lots of fun. Thank you, ladies, for making me feel so much better last night. You rock!
