DD will be 4 in April, and #2 will be arriving in early May. With DD I had this Eddie Bauer bag (http://www.toysrus.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2401256) and it did it's job well, but it's not the best made bag and after 3+ yrs. of use it's seen much better days; it's also really manly looking and I am 100% sure I don't want another manly looking bag, but I don't want something that screams diaper bag either, and unfortunately Ju Ju Be, and Petunia Pickle Bottom do that for me. DH never carried it much except to daycare so I am guessing it will be the same with #2.

If it helps any style wise I am currently carrying a large red zippered Seat Belt Bag by Harveys, a brown plain leather Coach hobo, smallish tan Kate Spade Claire microfiber handbag, and a Dooney & Bourke All Weather Leather back pack in my rotation of bags.

So what does everyone like? Also IT MUST HAVE a zipper!

Here are some that I am thinking about:
:)Ju Ju Be Packabe in Black/Silver, (http://www.shopjujube.com/Product.aspx?l=00010005000000000000&p=JJB01230)
:)Le Sport Sac Small Travel bag, (http://www.lesportsac.com/store/7004_3820.html) (in either the black silver vine print or the pucci like one--second choice)
:)Le Sport Sac Large Travel bag, http://www.lesportsac.com/store/7008_3820.html) (same print choices as the small bag)
:)Vera Bradley backpack in Pirouette, or Blue Rhapsody (http://www.verabradley.com/product/Category/Mom-and-Baby/Large-Backpack/154767/defaultColor/Blue%20Rhapsody/pc/638/p/154767/sc/643/c/0.uts)
:)Vera Bradley Baby Bag in Pirouette, Blue Rhapsody, or Paprika (http://www.verabradley.com/product/Baby-Bag/154882/defaultColor/Sittin'%20in%20a%20Tree/p/154882.uts)
:)Vera Bradley Super Tote in Pirouette (first print) (http://www.verabradley.com/product/Category/Mom-and-Baby/Super-Tote/154804/defaultColor/Raspberry%20Fizz/pc/638/p/154804/sc/643/c/0.uts)
Baby Sherpa in either black or blue (probably as manly as I'd want to go, and honestly could be a little bit of over kill since both DH and I work full time and I don't need to have a baby bag strapped to my back 24/7 and have used a regular EB backpack for theme parks and travel with DD as needed) (http://www.babysherpa.com/products.html)

Thanks so much!

ETA: what about this bag from Longchamps: http://www.longchamp.com/en/collection/women/lines/le-pliage/showroom-255.html

I am not into diaper-looking bags either. We have a Baby Sherpa and a Diaper Dude. I just sold my Kate Spde one because it never got any use. I like the DD for quick outings and use the BS for travel and overnight trips. What about a Skip Hop Duo?

I have the LeSportSac Weekender (not sure if it's the small, medium or large though)
DH also got a set of those zipper pouches for me and it's works great, even though it's technically not a diaper bag.

I like that Sittin on a Tree one from Vera Bradley.

That said, I'm a guy and my fashion sense is... ummm... poor. I love our Skip Hop bags. DW has much better fashion sense then me, and she likes the looks too, but she likes clean, simple, and classic though. None of those wild or busy or fun patterns.

Kind of forgot about Skip Hop. Thanks for the reminder, they are semi popular here, but not nearly as popular now as the PPB, or JJBs.

AHH, that's what LS bag you have; I couldn't remember the exact one. I do like the idea of the Weekender because it has the shoulder strap and can be worn across the body. I think you have either the medium or the large. I am starting to like that floral print more.

That one is growing on me too. I am pretty darn picky about prints, but there is something about Vera Bradley bags in some printed styles that just look classic to me. It's probably because they were mom's bag of choice when I was growing up. One other huge thing is that I :heartbeat: that they can go in the washing machine!

Yes! I use the shoulder strap alot too.
Not sure if you watch LOST but I got all excited when they showed Kate getting the stuff out of Claire's bag and it was a LeSportSac. I think the Weekender even. :tongue5:

I'm a big fan of backpack or over-the-shoulder bags. I have one from One Step Ahead that is probably about as big as the Baby Sherpa one. It is a bit of overkill, but it's good if you're going to be out for the day, or going away for a few days, or if you need "back-up clothes" for a potty-training toddler, so I would vote for the Baby Sherpa for that purpose. I also have a mini backpack, I think from Land's End. It's good for a few diapers, etc., so for quick trips something that size is good. (I'm not sure if they still make it, though.) I was browsing at BRU today after I turned in my old carseat and got a new one, and I peeked at the diaper bags to see what's new. I did notice an over-the shoulder one that intrigued me. (Sorry I don't know more, but I did want to spend any money, so I didn't look too closely, but I think it was kind of in-between the sizes of the 2 I have.)

All of your choices look good and not too diaper-bagish. I just personally would rather carry something on my back (more ergonomically correct).

I have an almost 3-year old and a 6 month old and just got a Packabe (after lots of obsessive research on different backpacks, because I knew I wanted a backpack) I :love5: it. Got the lotus lullaby, so apparently I do kind of like my bag to look somewhat like a diaper bag, but if you got a generic bag I think you'd be really happy. The fabric is great and I really like the organization - there are enough pockets to separate things but not so many that it's confusing to remember where you put it all.

So glad to hear you like your Packabe. I do like the Lotus, and Midnight Eclipse (the black and white dots one); (it's the other floral and really bright ones I don't care for much) but on the Shop JJB website where I pulled the link from a few days ago it didn't list them as being available so I thought they weren't. I'll definitely check those out too as it looks like they are available on the company's main website..

I bought mine from Diapers.com and used a 15% off coupon - and we must have similar taste, because I had a hard time between the LL and Midnight Eclipse! Both of those fabrics were available on that site and with the coupon, it was the cheapest I had found (it was a one-time coupon I got via email and it didn't exclude JJB, which surprised me). I had to pay shipping b/c of where I live and I think the total was $106.
