I need help coming up with some nice inexpensive first birthday presents for my nieces. There are 2 sets of twins girls all turning one within 3 weeks of each other.

I might be going in with my other sister in law for one set. What do you think is a nice present from both of us and if not than just from me? I would say $20-$25/girl tops.

Also I will be needing bday present for a turning 3 niece and a turning 4 nephew. If we could keep it under $20 I would be very happy ($10-$15 is even better;)).

THANKS!!!!

Doll strollers are great starting around that age and you can find good ones for that price. Our teaset has seen a lot of play ever since that age as well. Another thing that we LOVED from 1 and still going is A Little Tikes picnic table, but you might not want to go with something that physically large unless you know the family's setup.

(I would not let a 1 year old have the spoons in this set though)

Also, Corolle Tidoo or Corolle Calin would be great: http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_noss?url=search-alias%3Dtoys-and-games&field-keywords=calin&x=0&y=0

Try KidSurplus for better prices on those....

Gosh, I'm having trouble remembering what else was a hit at age 1....I was still seriously sleep-deprived at that stage....

Call me lame, but I give a lot of CD's for gifts. No one complains. I know they are listened to. For the 3 year olds a music cd and some sort of a toy microphone is fun, they are all rock stars! For the 1 year olds.... music and some sort of instrument?

I got my niece a Leap Frog My Pal Violet. I thought it was a cute interactive stuffed toy. I like that it says the child name.

We just had DDs 1st birthday and some of her favorite gifts were:

The Fisher Price Learning Puppy - http://www.amazon.com/Fisher-Price-Laugh-Learn-Learning-Puppy/dp/B000284ZNI

Busy Ball Popper - http://www.amazon.com/Playskool-Explore-Grow-Busy-Popper/dp/B002B555QQ/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=toys-and-games&qid=1266851069&sr=1-1

Books, books & more books!

And I have to 2nd the vote on CDs. She just LOVES music & if mommy dances & sings along, even better!

Oh, if you want to be a true hit, attach a mylar balloon to their gifts - those dumb balloons (I got for $1 at the dollar store) were a source of endless pleasure for weeks!!!

A water table! Or at least that's what I'm getting my niece for her first birthday in a couple of months. We've had ours for 5 years and love it.
