Thinking of getting a puzzle storage rack for the M&D puzzles accumulating under the sofa. Thinking of getting this one: http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/B000088UPW/ref=ord_cart_shr?_encoding=UTF8&m=A2GVHUV1RJ3XVI&v=glance

We do have some bigger puzzles, but the rack that holds both big and small puzzles got a bad review as not holding either well (the big ones are chunky, so they prob wouldn't fit anyway.

Also, DS is accumulating a lot of trains, and looking for a way to store them other than thrown in the drawer with the track. This looks nice http://www.amazon.com/Thomas-Wooden-Railway-Engine-Caddy/dp/B000J5137K/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=toys-and-games&qid=1266866574&sr=8-1

But, I'm wondering if anyone makes anything chepaer.

We store most of the train stuff in Rubbermaid containers. The stuff that is currently out is in a bin in our toy bin rack.

We do, too. That rack is cute, but it only holds up to 18 trains. We would need 5 or 6 of them :).

We store tracks in Sterlite open containers and sort by type - straight, curved, hills, intersections.

Puzzles are just stacked on a book shelf. I was tempted by the racks but I don't think they are truly necessary.

I have fabric bins and wooden storage bins that I use for trains, cars, pretty much anything. I get them at Target (Itso, Cubicals, and store brand).

We have that rack& it works great. DD can get puzzles out easily but needs help sometimes putting them back. Only prob is will only fit puzzles of a certain size.

I can't help you with trains-- just have 1 small set in a Sterlite container.

I am trying a large multi-box from Container Store for puzzle storage.

http://www.containerstore.com/shop/storage/storageBoxes/plastic?productId=10018851

It fits more sizes than a rack, plus you can just dump pieces in if you don't have time. And throw in random pieces as you find them. I just started this yesterday though, so not sure if it is going to work out. If it doesn't, I can always use it for something else. I like this size for this type of stuff because when full it is still light enough for DD (and me!) to get out and carry around.

I use the mediums for lots of other things and have been happy with them. I like that lids can be purchased separately. I have not bought any as these can be stacked with or without a lid. Be aware that the lids do not snap on tight, they are easy off.

HTH.
