Didn't look like a real push to me, but the commentators were saying if the other skater hadn't gone down Ohno would not have been disqualified. (Makes me wonder if he went down on purpose for his brother and himself?? I know, that's just an evil thought.)

Looks like there are lots of spills in speed skating. I dont follow it much but it seems like people often win due to DQ's, falls, etc.

Just saw a replay in slow motion and it appears that the Canadian who won gold also had his hand on the Korean right before the Korean fell...hmmm. Seems a little unfair that the DQ call was made by a Canadian referee when the same thing happened with the Canadian/Korean and nothing was called on them...oh well.

You're thinking of François Hamelin, brother to Charles, who won the gold in that particular race. The Canadian that went down in that heat was Tremblay. Speed-skating is one rough sport, that's all I have to say!

Did anyone see the interview afterwards? I was watching NBC (boy is Ohno short!) and I'm sure I'll see this on the Canadian channels tomorrow, but he was certainly less than gracious. I haven't seen many interviews with him, but I was not overly impressed, especially considering how many medals he has already won.

I had just said to my oldest dd (I've got her hooked on watching him skate too) that if one of the Koreans went down and took out Apolo, then the Koreans would get a medal....Oh wait that was in the semis that the Korean went down.

The 500 seemed a little iffy--I really don't think he pushed him that hard, because he pulled his hand back and made the 'hands off' sort of gesture so you could see he wasn't. I kind of wonder if the guy Apolo touched saw the guy in front of him stumble and stumbled in preparation of the guy in front of him going down.

Nail bitter it was!!!!!!! omgosh so bummed Apolo was DQ'd. So so bummed. :( Oh well al those medals is NOTHING to be ashamed of! :D
