P&PT...in hospital on bedrest - UPDATE

**Update**
I'm not 100% sure I'll go home tonight but things are looking up. The ultrasound today showed my cervical length had more than doubled...from 2cm to 5cm...since Saturday (2 wks ago it was 5.8 with the cerclage) and the baby's kidneys seem to be tolerating the Indocin ok. He looks great and is measuring about 10 days ahead. He's also really really long! The ultrasound tech was fabulous. She took a couple of very obvious "boy bits" pictures and labeled them "hubba, hubba" and "lookee, lookee" for me. That was the first laugh I've had since Saturday morning. My OB says, obviously, it's week to week now and bedrest at home if I do go home. I'll see her again in a few hours.

I'm only 22 weeks. I'm in the hospital on strict bedrest at least until Monday. I started having a lot of pressure in my lower abdomen last night and after a lengthy discussion with the doc on call for my OB, I decided to ride it out last night and go in this morning if still having issues. I actually felt a lot better this morning but was still stressed enough that wanted to get checked out just to put my mind at east. I really thought it would be nothing so I drove myself and left DH at home with DD. Glad I did. It looks like my cerclage isn't holding and has partially torn through. My cervix is softening and there is some funneling. The cervix sill has quite a bit of length to it, though. No contractions at this point so I'm in the hospital through the weekend on high dose Indocin and Procardia to try to see if the cervix will firm up again and see if the cervical length stays the same. I'll have another ultrasound on Monday and if everything is status quo, I'll be discharged to home bedrest. Baby still looks great at this point.

Oh no! I know exactly (well, very close to) how you feel. I also have a cerclage and had to be hospitalized for 3.5 weeks .... just got home 2 weeks ago. I am happy to hear your cervix is still long. My shortened to 1.3 cm with a lot of funneling. The Indocin helped, and I am now at home on Procardia. I have had contractions since about 16 weeks...so I am also glad to hear you are not really contracting. Strict bed rest really does seem to help. I was in the hospital from 24-28 weeks, and am now just beginning my 30th week. It feels like an eternity, I know. I am glad the Dr's/hospital are being very proactive. Feel free to PM me, as I think you and I are on a similar journey at this point.

oh no. Prayers for both of you. I too spent just under a month in the hospital on bedrest. I ruptured at 22 weeks, had a partial abruption at 24, and delivered at 25 weeks 1 day. It was a very scary time. I pray that you both are able to carry much closer to term and have healthy babies!
