does sleeping alot = growth spurt?

Last week, DD had a week-long feeding frenzy, so I thought that was her growth spurt. But for the past 2 days, she's been very tired. She only stays awake an hour at a time (usually it's around 2 hours), and she's 4.5 months. She's back to eating every 2-3 hours. Do you think she's still on some sort of crazy growth spurt?

Well, my experience is with a toddler. He did the eat a ton (couple of days), then sleep a bunch (couple of days), then outgrown his pants by an inch overnight thing a few times.
