Sounds like there are tons. Might as well get to know each other a little better. Even if you don't practice anymore, just say what you used to do.

If you're willing, let us know what:

State you practice in?
Areas of practice?
Private or Public?
School you went to?

Guess that means I have to start off.

California
Business and Estate Planning
Private
UC Davis

Areas of practice? Capital markets/structured finance

School you went to? Edited because the other responses have me paranoid about giving too much away!

There do seem to be a huge number of lawyers here!
- California
- Law school administration
- Boalt

Edited as I realized you can probably figure out exactly who I am if I disclose more details since there are only so many law schools in CA. :)

Smiles33--Boalt? Me too!

Gave up long ago on any kind of discretion since my name's fairly unique and my bar puts it all on the web anyway. "Mary-Helen" is like "Cher" so I've been told.

I'm going to keep the other information private. I think I'm too easy to find as it is.

After practicing for 12 years, I have been a SAHM for the past 3.

I specialized in employment law at a large international firm (private practice). I plan to keep my license active.

I still don't know whether I have ever considered myself a lawyer. I graduated from law school but never practiced law (I worked in taxation/accounting in a very boutiquey banking firm for a few years).

JD from Villanova, I also took a couple LLM classes in taxation, also at Villanova.

My disclaimer (ha ha) is that I have always wanted to be an interior designer :)

I worked for a couple of years for a state agency, no longer practicing. Went to a big public law school.

Inactive in Texas. Worked for a private immigration firm prior to being a SAHM. Doubtful I will return to immigration.... or practice at all for that matter.

New York (inactive - now work in a related industry)
Litigation - primarily white collar and securities defense
Private

I thought getting a law degree was the most flexible credential I could have...then I fell for DH and moved overseas. Current job does make use of my specific legal background and I work with a lot of American lawyers, but I'm not actively practicing.
