Why are Oprah's commercials so loud?!?

Or is it just that her show is so soft? Either way it's very annoying. I'm constantly raising and lowering the volume during her show. Anyone else notice this?

Its bad on Bravo too. Its bad everywhere. I think it is the single most annoying, obnoxious thing ever. As if advertising isnt annoying enough. You know its intentional too - thats what gets me most.

ITA that Opra's show is super soft. I noticed it with the commercials, plus when I channel surf. If the actual show is on then I have to crank the volume. It is a PITA.

Yes, commercials are intentionally loud. My DH used to do the sound editing for them. :)

I noticed that on NBC, esp. on The Today Show.

I don't notice it on Oprah, specifically, in our area. I do notice it on other cable channels though.

I also notice that network High Def (NBC, ABC, etc) is at a lower volume non-HD version on Directv, and it was on our previous cable provider too. It's jarring if you go from one to the other!
