It seems like every season/holiday, someone starts one of these threads, and there are always so many good recommendations. I haven't seen one yet for spring/Easter, so I thought I'd start things rolling.

My girls really don't have any favorites yet, but one I remember from my childhood and that I will be buying is "The Country Bunny and the Little Gold Shoes".

I LOVE the Country Bunny and the Little Gold Shoes. I found my old copy last year and added it to our Easter book basket. : )

The first is a cute board book with glittery eggs. The Easter story is told through the color of each egg. This book can be enjoyed by people of all ages.

The second is a wonderful parable that celebrates the birth, life, death/resurrection of Christ.

The final story is the second book from the Chronicles of Narnia, an allegory of the life of Christ. I read this book to my children last year (4 and 6) during Lent. (This year, we are reading the Magician's Nephew, the first book in the series).

Our Easter book basket also contains a set of Resurrection Eggs. We hide the eggs in our living room several times during lent and retell the Easter story as we open the eggs.

Thanks for starting this post. I hope to get some new book ideas.

This isn't really directly spring or easter, but always feels spring-like. And really cute.

we have easter bugs too-- my 26 month old really likes it :)
she also really likes "mr. rabbit and the lovely present"

i like the story of the easter bunny (it tells how the bunny started off helping an old man and woman and gradually takes over-- the pictures are sweet)

we have about 20 books in the 'spring' basket right now-- anything about bunnies/lambs/easter/spring....they vary from board books lu can enjoy herself to books that are better with mommy. some are old that i got at the library (they sell their older stuff). we haven't read through them all quite yet because we're on a madeline/elephant & piggy kick... i've looked at the country bunny & the gold shoes many times, but haven't picked it up yet. yesterday i used a buy one get one 50% coupon from b&n to get "spring" by national geographic kids (lots of good spring photos) and "the ugly duckling" (a paperback version that had very sweet illustrations)
