From all the SAHM and spinoffs of SAHM threads about going back to work, giving up careers, etc, I'm curious why ppl have children. For me, I just thought it was the natural next step to take after marriage, kind of like going to 6th grade because it comes after 5th grade. After having DCs, I realized how much I do love having them but sometimes wonder if I had them for the sake of having them. That's kind of unfair to them, kwim? I feel a little guilty for not giving my kids the choice to be brought into this world. In return, I feel like I need to give up some things I love to do, from going to expensive restaurants (not in our budget anymore) to building my career.
Do some ppl have children for religious reasons, procreation?
Do some ppl have children because they want to give the children an opportunity to live?
Do some ppl have children just because "they" want to?
I have a lot of respect for all kinds of moms, SAHMs, WAHMs, WOHMs, single WOHMs, singe WAHMS. No one type of mother is better than the other. I'm just curious why ppl have kids. I know for some ppl, it's cultural too. Please do share.
