my DS, who is 3 years old, is having fevers. Took him to the pediatrician who found he has an ear infection. She gave us some antibiotics, amoxicillin, liquid twice a day.

To get him to take the antibiotic or any medicine, including tylenol and motrin for the fevers, my husband has to hold him down while I squirt the liquid medicine into his mouth. DS squirms and screams, crying the whole time, and spits the medicine out. I have no idea if he's swallowed enough for a full dose. It's just a horrible experience for all involved.

the medicines are bubble gum flavored and I've tried all the different ones available, grape, cherry etc. He doesn't like it. I even made a smoothie and mixed it in, without him knowing, and he still wouldn't drink it.

I've resorted to using tylenol suppository but the antibiotic is oral. Any suggestions or tricks on how to get this poor sick kid, who has always been a picky-eater, to take his medicine?
