After amoxicillin failed to take care of DS' sinus infection which caused a subsequent ear infection, the ped prescribed cefidnir. DS hates to take them, so I give it to him with orange juice. He's fallen asleep today before he took his 2nd/final dose, and the only way I can give it to him without waking him up and without him putting up a fight is to give it with milk. Is that ok for cefdinir? as in, is it ok to mix it with milk to give it to DS?

Thanks,

I would call your local Walgreen's or other 24 hour pharmacy, just to be sure.

Thats Omnicef right? Sure you can give with milk. I just read on the info packet from our last bottle of Cefidnir that it can be taken without regard to food. Better to take with milk than not at all!

I am late to the discussion, but yes, you can mix the Omnicef with milk. In case anyone searches for this later, omnicef should not be mixed with formula that contains iron and should be given, ideally, 2 hours before or after the formula.
