We bought our house about 2 years ago, and we have slowly been remodeling some things.

We have decided to start working on the kitchen next. The kitchen, kitchen nook and living room are all open to each other.

The first stage is painting and adding crown molding to the cabinets and purchasing SS appliances.

The second stage will be changing the floors and countertops. We have decided on ceramic/porcelain floors and granite or quartz countertops. Currently, we have green 'stonelike' countertops and some type of stone/ceramic around the fireplace that matches it.

When we change the floors and countertops, what should we put around the fireplace? Ceramic like the floors or quartz/granite like the countertops?

Both might technically be ok, I'm just not sure... Normally, I would just pick which one I like best, but we are doing the upgrades because we will (hopefully) be selling soon, and I want to do what would be best for resell purposes -- basically, what others would like best. :)

Thanks for your help!
