Can anyone recommend a high chair that isn't covered in cartoon prints (and hasn't been recalled recently)? Thanks!

I honestly adore our Fisher Price Healthy Care Booster seat.

Mine is a different color, since it's five years old, but it was all I ever used with DD#1. I thought, because we have a different table set-up this time around, that I might want a "real" high chair for Ds#2, but after messing with that a couple times, I started using the FP booster seat with Ds#2 and will be selling the "real" highchair.

I love the portability (very easy to fold and take to restaurants or grandma's). It is super easy to clean as well. I actually bought a second to keep in the car for visiting.

Loved mine and really liked the look of it. Chicco Discovery. A very attractive looking hi chair.

:yeahthat: This is the answer to your question over and over on this site. This was the answer I got when I asked the question, so I thought...$25 - how can you go wrong? OMG - BBB saved me a ton of $$ and a ton of heartache! This seat is easy to clean, easy to take with us to friends house and it works like a charm! DD loves it, and I love that I can easily move it from our dining table (normal table height) to our kitchen bar-height table without a problem. DD is always at our level, so she's always eating with us. I went onto the mattel website and ordered extra serving trays (super-reasonable.) I now have 4, so there is always a clean one while the others are in the dishwasher. https://store.mattel.com/CatalogBrowser.aspx?cat=140&sec=9608

I am an anomaly on these boards with a few products, I think. But, I really preferred a real high chair and, on top of that, I like a fabric cover. :) Mine was a Baby Trend and we were happy with it. I liked that it had wheels (my ILs FP one didn't have them and it was annoying). I don't know, baby meal time can be slow so I wanted him to be comfy and contain the mess in one place.

If you do go with the booster seat option, which we did when ds was almost 2yo, and choose to do it an earlier age then I would opt for one of the ones with padding vs the hard plastic ones.

We have both a regular FP HC in Rainforest (cartoony print!) and a FP booster chair that other posters have discussed. Highly recommend both- the booster is great because you can take with you places and it's easy to clean- good for those small on space.

We have the FP booster shown above, a Chicco Polly and a Svan. They all serve different purposes and not one of them is perfect. Depends on what you prefer.

FP booster: easy to clean & store, you can take it to restaurants, etc., does not recline, does not support head, all plastic (we have not used this much with DS2 as he loves to slam his head against the back when throwing a tantrum and there is no support in the back)

Chicco Polly: reclines, easy to store because it folds and can be pushed down, supports back and head, cushy seat, harder to clean (perfect for DS2 but does not look as clean as the other two)

Svan: attractive, does not support head in high chair mode, not as comfy as padded chair, converts to a toddler chair (DS1's chair)

:yeahthat: loved it so much more than a high chair, it is all we ever used with both dc (at home, at grandmas, at restaurants).
