It's because of this. How cute is this gate!http://thepioneerwoman.com/homeandgarden/files/2010/03/gatelookinin-2.jpg

That's pretty darned cute! My girls would find it hard to nap without their door closed though.

SO CUTE.

I actually recently tried the 'gate instead of closed door' thing but it was a PITA - but that was an actual push-button-raise-to-open safety gate. With older kids, could be very cute.

It would work when the kids were young, but as they get older, they want privacy adn you'd have to put the door back on, I expect.

um, yeah. My 18 month old would scale that in a heartbeat and be down the hall playing with the cats. On the cat tree.

This reminds me... has anyone put a screen door in place of the door on the baby's room to keep the pets out? We have three cats who want to colonize the baby's room.

I can totally see that on a playroom but agree with the others that it wouldn't be ideal for their main sleeping room.

wait until they are in high school! When we were in jr. high or high school and if we slammed the door, yelled at the parents, and then we got the door taken off, it was worse than being grounded!
