I'm back! And...

...pregnant with TWINS!

I don't know how many of the "old gang" is still around, but I apologize for being the queen of the disappearing act. Things got a little crazy around a year ago...some of y'all might remember that we had several miscarriages. After going through all of that, I just got really done with the whole baby thing - I was tired of reading about babies, seeing babies, trying to have babies, losing babies...it was just a rough time for me and I kind of shut down for a while. Then we had some other issues - our house got struck by lightning and caught on fire and we had to move for a while so that it could be repaired, I was without a computer for a while during all of that, blah blah blah.

Anyway, the past year or so has been a crazy trip! Finding a doctor who will take infertility and pregnancy loss seriously when you're only 24 is next to impossible, but we finally did. There've been lots of tests and all kinds of craziness, and I finally told Keith in January that we would try one more time, and then we were done. It just got to be way too much to deal with and I felt like the whole focus of my life was getting pregnant and staying that way, and I just wanted to be able to enjoy Avery and move on with my life.

And then we got a positive HPT on January 19th. But we'd been there before, so I wasn't going to get too excited until we saw a heartbeat. So we went in for an ultrasound at 7w6d and saw not one heartbeat, but two! I'll be honest - that ushered in a whole new set of worries and I've been kind of a wreck for the past month, but I'm 13 weeks today and both babies looked great at my appointment this morning. So I think I'm finally comfortable believing this is really happening and jumping back on the baby bandwagon.

Anyway, I just wanted to say hi (wow, long "hi" huh?) and give you guys an update, and let you know that I'm officially in the club again. :)
