I recently bought the graphic novel version for a 9yo DS of Dh's cousin. Now a woman at my church is looking for things for her DS to read. Her DS does NOT like to be read to, doesn't like to read period. I think he is 5 or 6. I was thinking of this series, but I don't know if it's appropriate for a 5-6 year old. Actually the reason I got the 9yo the book was because I kept hearing Artemis Fowler mentioned here :p The 9yo doesn't like to read much either, but loves video games, so I thought the graphic novel might have a better chance.
Anyhoo, if your kid reads this series, how old are they? Any other suggestions for a 5-6yo boy? This boy canNOT stand Magic Treehouse series, and his teacher last year read aloud through the entire series. He liked the first Harry Potter movie, but the book didn't last through the first chapter.
I really feel for the mom because she LOVES to read, and it pains her that neither of her children (her DD is 12) likes to be read to, or likes to read much.
