OK .... I received such great ideas regarding picnic totes, now I need your help in the pool/beach bag department.

Any suggestions for a pool/beach bag that will weather nicely, clean-up/out easily, carry multiple towels, sunscreen, hats, etc???????

Thanks!

I have he Whale and can easily put towels for 4, snacks, diapers, my purse, etc in it. My plan it to put a hook in our laundry room and keep the bag stocked and ready to go.

I have a Saltwater Whale bag and a Dolphin bag, along with an LL Bean Adventure Tote, along with many many other totes.

For pure function and for a family of 4, the Whale bag is my fave. If I want something smaller, I go for the Dolphin. I don't take these bags when I travel by plane (they are heavier and bulky when packed), I use the Adventure tote by LL Bean for that (it could sub for a carry on as it zips).

I also like the madras plaid tote from LL Bean -- its super cute! I have the medium and the large. I highly recommend the pink plaid, very cute.

If I could only buy 1 bag for a family, it would be the Whale bag. I think the Adventure tote is great for travel, though.

Didn't look at the links above but we have a huge LL Bean canvas tote. Perfect for either place.

We have a whale and 2 dolphins. The boys each have a pail bag too so they can carry their own toys. Ds1 puts his pail bag in the water with some rocks or shells in the bottom to weight it and fills it with all the crabs and fish he catches and then dumps them out when it's time to go.

I've been using one of these for the past several years and love it. I might have to check out the popular whale bag, though!

Another vote for a Whale or Dolphin bag from Saltwater Canvas. I purchased an irregular Whale bag several years ago and it has held up beautifully. It is my favorite bag for the beach. For the pool, we use the Dolphin bag since it is usually just M and me.

Wow.....I did not notice (or check out) the yard sale. Thanks for informing, what a better deal for an irregular (which I don't mind).

Soooo awesome. Happy Mother's Day to me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh, I like the backyard bag. Our backyard is right off the kitchen, but I might make a park bag out of the Dolphin I have. What do you keep in it? Details, please :).

I bought a Whale Bag last year and I love it for the beach and pool. I even used it on Easter as my diaper bag and for lugging all the Easter stuff home in.

Last year I used a canvas shopping bag that I got at Steve Madden when I bought some shoes there. It was huge and great- and "free". :) eta- the Steve Madden bag is the same size and style as the Adventure Tote! Only 1 pocket inside though (which is better for me than 6).

A few years ago, someone suggested a canvas bag at Walmart ($12?) that had pockets all the way around. I got one of those and also a big IKEA bag for when we have a lot of stuff. I also bought one of those mesh bags from Walmart for my neice and nephew (with the PB personalized beach towel) for Xmas. I would love to get a beach cart.

I can't say enought good things about my Saltwater canvas whale bag, and I tend to regret a good many of my BBB purchases! :) Sure, you can use any old, big bag, but the Saltwater has a bunch of great pockets, stays dry, and perches upright rather than flopping over.
